This approach allows everything learned in the grammar to be immediately utilized in reading the texts, thus reducing the time and trouble of looking up words to a minimum.... The learner who has worked conscientiously through this little book will have a considerable practical knowledge of the language—a knowledge which will be none the worse for being mainly unconscious and instinctive rather than systematic and analytic. A few weeks' work with the Primer will then systematize their knowledge and round it off, and they will proceed to the elements of historical and comparative grammar with all the more zest, having not had them crammed into them prematurely. Some may prefer to use the two books simultaneously.
